Duties
Provides catering and administrative support for the Food and Hospitality Branch by coordinating and planning catering events. Contacts groups and other prospective patrons to sell and publicize catering services of the Food & Hospitality Branch. Plans command sponsored events within the facility such as command functions, professional military education, MCCS cultural events, Marine Corps Balls, etc. Meets with clients, discusses requirements such as date, number of guests, occasion, and explains services offered, i.e., room, decorations, menu, entertainment, etc. Makes recommendation as needed. Works with established catering brochures and menus to prepare contracts following established policies and procedures. Coordinates food and beverage needs with appropriate club personnel by preparing banquet event orders (BEOs). Arranges required supplies, decorations and equipment. Follows-up with client evaluation of services rendered. Promotes catering program and coordinates with Marketing Department in the creation of marketing materials. May assist in preparing private party brochures and advertising material. May assist with setup of catering events to include handling food, setting up tables, etc. Conducts costing and profitability analysis prior to booking to ensure events meet business requirements. Coordinates advance deposits or approved credit from all clients. Maintains catering software database with all current account and client information, events and bookings data and history of sales activities for the account, client, and specific events. Communicates thoroughly when handing over client to MCCS staff for administrative and detailing duties prior to the event. Represents MCCS in business networking events on installation and off-installation as needed. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Three years catering and/or administrative experience, which has equipped the incumbent to perfom1 the duties of the position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the qualifications above. Skills to assist customers in planning delivery of services. Knowledge of methods and procedures for purchasing required food products, including proper storage to prevent spoilage and pilferage. Ability to prepare reports and complete simple contractual arrangements. Must be able to obtain a ServSafe Manager's Certificate within the first 30 days. This position is designated in the Medical Surveillance Program and requires the ability to obtain a Health Card. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
