You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security (IT&CS) Department (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide IT field eng. support and/or journeyman level tech services for specified areas of responsibility in support of Temporary Submarine Shift Operations Management System (SOMS) on Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program Network ( NNPPNet).
You will apply configuration management disciplines to formally document and control the functional and physical characteristics of an operating system and device during its life cycle.
You will participate in studies of major information processing systems to obtain a working knowledge of these systems and to develop or modify functionality to meet changing requirements on NNPPNet.
You will assist in performing research, evaluation, and provide feedback on problem trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
You will drafts and maintain written communication to address issues impacting or provide guidance to users regarding processes or upcoming initiatives.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-11 Grade level
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: installing configuring, and testing software on customer workstations; installing and configuring upgrades; troubleshooting hardware and software components; resolving recurring problems in response to customer reported incidents; and reporting, responding to, and resolving customer requests.
GS-09 Grade level
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing assistance with installing, configuring, and testing software on customer workstations and with installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting hardware and software components: and providing assistance in resolving recurring problems in response to customer reported incidents; and with reporting, responding to, and resolving customer requests.

Education
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
GS-11 Grade level
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
OR
Successful completion of three full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
GS-09 Grade level
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Successful completion of two full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
