You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Navy Installations of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY HAMPTON ROADS.
Duties
You will analyze data on work operations, mishaps, and safety practices to prepare reports of findings that propose corrective measures for unsafe conditions and hazardous work practices.
You will advise higher level management on any Safety and Occupational Health matters to support operations.
You will identify ordnance and required procedures needed for its safe handling to protect people, property, and equipment.
You will conduct Safety and Occupational Health surveys to evaluate the safety programs for risks or hazards in workplaces, facilities and operations (e.g., industrial, warehouse, maintenance, range, tactical safety).
You will review and analyze explosives safety procedures and operations to implement a comprehensive explosives safety inspection and evaluation program.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Develops and revises safety and occupational health instructions, rules and regulations applicable to operations, industrial and marine fleet activities, and seeks cooperation of supervisors to eliminate unsafe working conditions and mechanical risks, 2. Develops and conducts a comprehensive safety education program through formal training sessions, guest lectures, and supervisor-employee discussions; publicizes safety articles and disseminates safety educational materials to organizational units, 3. Participates in command meetings to assess SOH hazards related to activities such as repair of maintaining ground facilities.
