The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior advisor and provide expertise regarding specialized security policy related to Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of SAF/AAZO, ensuring that Air Force SAP policy complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Represents SAF/AAZ with a variety of councils, boards, working groups, and panels inside and outside the agency. Participates as a key management official and subject matter expert in planning, directing, coordinating, facilitating, and assessing the DAF SAPCO's security policies.
Serves as the DAF SAPCO's focal point and subject matter expert for SAP policy.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles, practices and requirements encompassed with the overall Security Administration realm to include: Special Access Programs (SAP), Acquisition Security, Program Protection, Information Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security, Foreign Disclosure, Import and Export Regulation, and Information Assurance.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Expert knowledge on the concepts and principles underlying SAP programs, practices, and procedures in order to assist in the formulation and implementation of SAP security audits and inspections conducted by DAF and DoD oversight organizations.
Advanced knowledge and expertise in drafting security policy specifically as it pertains to SAPs.
Skill in the development, analysis, implementation, oversight, and coordination of SAP security policies, procedures, standards, training &education, and methods to identify and protect information, personnel and physical security issues, operations and material from unauthorized disclosures, misuses, theft, espionage, sabotage or loss.
Skill in designing evaluation standards for program security procedures, guides, and security classification guides used by DAF special access programs.
Ability to collaboratively develop SAP policy manuals related to Special Access Program security, physical security, computer network security, and personnel security, which provide common security policies and procedures within DoD.
Ability to lead effectively to produce definable and cogent recommendations on complex issues.
