Duties

You will provide security testing support to include guiding the execution of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and security scanning for projects and systems throughout its life cycle phases. You will support activities necessary to obtain proper authorization and follow-on continuous monitoring for all projects and systems through all life cycle phases. You will develop and maintain Assessment and Authorization project plans to support system accreditation. You will provide cybersecurity oversight of projects and systems to minimize attack vulnerability to systems. You will support individual system level information system risk assessments to identify risk reduction actions. You will conduct interface agreement reviews to ensure interfaced systems retain authorization and oversee maintenance of DoD Cybersecurity documents.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for APS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assigned systems; providing cybersecurity oversight of projects and systems to minimize attack vulnerability. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
