About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Fort Jackson, SC
Duties
Serves as the Logistics staff specialist performing plans and operational support for assigned functional areas of the Operations Division.
Reviews and analyzes logistics portions of plans, operations orders and directives and recommends appropriate course of action for the LRC Director.
Specifies goals and obstacles to achieving those goals, generates alternatives, considers risks, and evaluates and chooses the best alternative in order to make a determination, draw conclusions or solve a problem.
Receives all taskers and is responsible for staffing, effectively managing, coordinating, planning, and submitting program requirements within required timelines.
Determines objectives and strategies; coordinates with other parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors and evaluates the progress and outcomes of operational plans; anticipates potential threats or opportunities.
Assists the Plans and Operations Division Chief in the day-to-day activities to accomplish organizational mission.
Develops implementation plans and monitors schedules for special projects and areas of emphasis.
Communicate (i.e., written and oral) rights, responsibilities, management directives, policies, and/or regulations to employees, supervisors, and/or other pertinent individuals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
- Temporary duty travel of 5% may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized experience: Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: staffing, managing, coordinating, planning, advising and submitting program requirements within required timelines pertaining to Supply, Transportation, Maintenance, and Logistical Operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09).

Education Substitution: Successful completion of at least a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Logistics, Supply, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education Substitution: If you have some, but not all, of the experience or education described above, you may still qualify by combining the amount of creditable experience and education that you possess. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at 100% to qualify.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
