Duties

Protect the civil rights of individuals through the enforcement of federal, military and state laws, rules and regulations. As the activity’s primary point of contact for all tasks and orders assigned to the Police/Provost Marshal Division, monitor, report, track and manage all Task Orders on behalf of the Chief of Police. Conduct initial and follow-up investigations of calls for service, complaints and other incidents. Collect and preserve evidence, conduct long and short-term investigations on criminal cases and analyze facts to identify suspects and develop case information for use in pressing charges and bringing suspect to trial. Exercise search and arrest authority, detains witnesses, apprehends suspects, interviews witnesses and other persons involved, determines whether facts warrant apprehension or lesser action. Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
  • Must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions such as weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Incumbent must meet the requirements of the Army Regulation 190-56 (The Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program) which includes comply with requirements and maintain certification under the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
  • In accordance with the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban False or fraudulent information provided by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment per 18 U.S.C. Section 1001.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • he duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Subject to a 1probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
  • The Omnibus Federal Budget Bill (Public Law 106-554) requires removal of federal law enforcement officers convicted of felonies after the law takes effect. Convictions occurred before the new law are not included.
  • The Omnibus Federal Budget Bill (Public Law 106-554) took effect on 20 January 2020.
  • Subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban (Lautenberg Amendment). This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
