Duties
WHAT IS THE PATHWAYS PROGRAM? The Department of the Treasury's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government.
Following the completion of program requirements, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement. Program requirements include but are not limited to:

Qualifications
To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous two years*, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution;

*Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the two-year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining two-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond six years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study.
In order to qualify for the Management Assistant (Office Automation) position at the GS-05 level, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
To qualify for the GS-05level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing of this announcement:
A. Education- In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR
B. Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Creating and maintaining records, charts, databases, and reports pertaining to management analysis. Assisting staff with extracting information for status and statistical reports and studies. Preparing written documents utilizing various software applications. Screening calls and visitors. Coordinating and scheduling meetings to support office functions. Answering inquiries concerning case status and basic program review procedures. OR
C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
Typing Requirement: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
