The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the senior logistics management specialist in support of strategic sustainment acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs or major equipment.
Duties
As the senior logistics management specialist, leads planning, management, and coordination of life cycle logistics support in strategic sustainment acquisition activities for the enterprise Supply Chain.
Develops, publishes and updates supply chain strategies and associated implementation plans that support achievement of supply objectives through contractual, financial, and technical aspects of the acquisition life,
Represents the Squadron in meetings and communicates with a variety of installations, functional area organizations, and contractors.
Prepares presentations, papers, and other correspondence accessary to support of logistics execution.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Logistics Management Series 346 positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing life cycle logistics support and supply chain management sourcing functions consistent with AFSC initiatives. This position will identify, develop and implement strategic strategies.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of life cycle logistical operations and strategic sourcing.
Mastery knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), supply chain missions, programs, key players and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives of the sourcing organization, AFSC, 448 SCMW, DLA,OC-ALC,WR-ALC, OO-ALC, other squadrons, groups, wings and outside functions so as the facilitate communications toward the joint resolution of logistics problems. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current supply chain strategies and performance.
Extensive knowledge of life cycle logistics management concepts, principles and practices as related to the requirements for performance based logistics, acquisition, supply, maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing and other support areas for weapon systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with accuracy and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
Ability to work with, lead and manage various groups or individuals (i.e. suppliers, contractors , other government agencies, Integrated Product Team (IPTs) to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to life cycle logistics management issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem solving.
Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
