The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the expert Supply Chain Manager in support of Depot Supply Chain Management (DSCM).Works directly with senior leaders of the Groups/Squadrons (typically Aircraft, Engines, Electronics, Missiles, and/or Commodities) in the local Air Logistics Complex (ALC).
Duties
Provides guidance and oversight to efforts supporting a specific depot functional area/Group
Provides technical guidance, advisory support, and assistance.
Responsible for the development of integrated DSCM plans for the full supportability of depot maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations and for planning, managing, and coordinating associated supportability assessments.
Represents the local Supply Chain Management Group with higher levels within the organization, a variety of installation and functional area organizations and contractor organizations.
Works in conjunction with the local and higher headquarters to provide parts supportability assessment information to support depot repair requirements, production plans, contracting efforts and budgets.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes serving as a logistics management specialist directing, developing implementing, or functioning as part of a logistics management operation in support of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a broad range of analysis techniques and possession of analytical and evaluative abilities/methods.
Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs and/or operations and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments. Must possess an in-depth knowledge in one or more areas of supply operations or management programs and knowledge of a broad range of supply program relationships.
Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
Skill to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts.
Ability to lead study teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies, and execute projects and/or studied within established financial and/or time constraints.
Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and design, build, and use models and simulation techniques.
Knowledge of material management, inventory management, transportation and distribution processes and procedures, and inventory optimization policies.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
