Duties
The duties for this postition may include research and develop AI-based approaches for the integrated 3D characterization of nanoelectronic device structures via electron tomography images. Explore, identify, and implement appropriate generative and attention-based AI architectures for denoising and reconstructing electron tomography images. Define efficient training, testing, and validation procedures targeting electron tomography data in coordination with domain experts. Optimize the performance of the computational framework and integrate it with the electron tomography tools to operate in real-time. Communicate and collaborate with team members, both on the experimental and computational sides, other NIST teams, and external teams. Present results at NIST and outside of NIST; prepare manuscripts for publication.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must also have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 (ZP-II at NIST) level. Specialized Experience is defined as one year of experience in Image Processing and Computer Vision, including Image Denoising, Segmentation, Registration, and Reconstruction in both 2D and 3D.
