You will serve as an Administrative Specialist working in an entry/developmental capacity performing assignments and completing on-the-job and formal training related to general administrative functions. You will carry out specific assignments with close supervision regarding routine tasks using basic analytical and evaluative techniques and methods. This position is located within the Naval Undersea Research & Threat Analysis Center at the OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE in Suitland, Maryland.
Duties
You will ensure timely and proper handling of all incoming and outgoing correspondence, documents, tasking, and messages pertaining to administrative functions.
You will exercise analytical ability, judgement, discretion, and knowledge of administrative or program principles, concepts, policies, and objectives.
You will liaison with other departments and commands to coordinate meetings, conferences, and other administrative functions.
You will learn the requirements to hold a Government Purchase Card (GPC) in order to keep the organization stocked with supplies.
You will assist management with other personnel related administrative procedures, including ratings, awards, advancements, and recruiting packages.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GG-07 grade level position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Assist with collating and tracking task responses and providing a weekly report to management to update status of all tasks;
Participate in reconciling bank statements against purchase logs and other documentation to ensure proper tracking and execution of funds;
Support records inventory and reviewing documents using a variety of automated records databases;
Research data to support office personnel in the preparation of briefings, reports, and budget submissions.
To qualify for the GG-09 grade level position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Receive catalogs and assign to the division all incoming tasks and ensure timely completion;
Reconcile bank statements against purchase logs and other documentation to ensure proper tracking and execution of funds;
Ensure departmental compliance with federal records management, regulations, policies, practices, and rules regarding record maintenance and destruction;
Assist with the coordination of an organization's travel requirements, including orders, country clearances, and non-Special Access Program (SAP) clearances as required.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GG-07
1 full year of graduate level education
OR
4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
GG-09
master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
