You will serve as an Administrative Specialist overseeing the administrative functions of the International Programs and Engagement Office, Director of Naval Intelligence.
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will formulate and implement administrative policy governing office procedures, personnel administration, and training.
You will update spreadsheets and database files on personnel, tasking, correspondence and fiscal matters and expand those tools to meet new requirements.
You will assist with protocol functions associated with international engagement opportunities.
You will execute office travel requirements, including orders, travel, lodging, country clearances, and security clearances.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
- This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring timely and proper handling of all incoming correspondence, documents, tasking, and messages pertaining to the assigned functions of the office; 2) Preparing and reviewing outgoing correspondence to ensure adherence to the government (US Navy) Correspondence Manual, technical accuracy, proper spelling, and correct classification markings; 3) Receiving, evaluating, cataloging and assigning to the appropriate office, all incoming tasks and ensures timely completion; 4) Ensuring proper security procedures are applied to all classified correspondence; 5) Providing liaison between organizations directorates, personnel, customers, and business counterparts to facilitate tasking, schedules, meetings, and various administrative functions; 6) Assisting with protocol functions related to international engagements; 7) Creating and maintaining databases for International Programs and Emergency & Extraordinary Expense (EEE) funds related to international engagements; 8) Executing office travel requirements, including orders, travel, lodging, country clearances, and security clearances; and, 9) Serving as the organization Custodian for all employees' courier cards and government passports.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
