You will serve as an Administrative Specialist performing various duties to include providing guidance on administrative processes and requirements, policies, and procedures related to correspondence, records, knowledge management, and other administrative functions. You will provide updates and recommendations to the Division Head on administrative issues. This position is located within the Foreign Materiel Exploitation Division of FARRAGUT TECHNICAL ANALYSIS CENTER in Suitland, Maryland.
Duties
You will advise Division Head on impacts of administrative requirements, policy, and procedures.
You will use knowledge of the organization’s programs, missions, and functions to evaluate and improve the administrative correspondence procedures.
You will ensure division knowledge management tools such as SharePoint and Windows security groups are continuously updated.
You will ensure the office complies with federal records management regulations, policies, practices, and rules regarding records maintenance/destruction and records inventory.
You will utilize the Defense Travel System (DTS) to execute and track travel budgets.
You will make purchases using a Government Purchase card.
You will serve as the Division's Property Manager.
Requirements

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
- Some travel may be required (within/outside U.S.).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Use Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to compile and retrieve data, generate reports, and prepare documents on project or program issues for management review;
Participate in the coordination and execution of travel arrangements, including orders and lodging, monitoring travel budgets, and ensuring compliance with organizational travel management policy and guidelines;
Determine distribution of equipment or other resources and maintain a resource accountability system to correct negative trends in operations;
Prepare correspondence to include letters, point papers, messages (e.g., planning orders, warning orders, executive orders), reports, and evaluations for an organization.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related.
