You will serve as a Electronics Mechanic Leader in the Maintence, Repair, and Overhaul Production Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will lead artisans who perform the full range of electrical, electronic and avionic mechanic duties at depot level.
You will demonstrate and instruct workers on the proper work methods and ensures that needed plans, blueprints, materials and tools are available.
You will assure that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available.
You will pass on instructions received from a supervisor to other workers, get the job started and work along with other employees and set the pace.
You will coordinate pilot overhaul actions and provide technical assistance to personnel working on pilot overhaul tasks.
You will assure that safety and housekeeping rules are followed and keep the supervisor informed on the status and progress of work.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Must obtain and maintain all required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Can interpret test results in a typical display control and monitor system and analyze feedback and control functions in a complex informational loop; 2) Can analyze the malfunctions encountered, devise repair procedures and perform the repairs; 3) Can operate, set up test equipment and repairs a full range of test equipment from multi-meters to software controlled Automatic Test Equipment (A TE); 4) Experience with installs and connects control motors, generator, inverters, relays, destruction panels, junction boxes, switches, circuit breakers, fuses, terminal strips, flexible conduit. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
