Duties
As a Workforce and Career Development Specialist you will:
Serve as the workforce analyst and liaison, and assistant to the Division of Partnership Support (DPS) Deputy Director on policies and procedural matters such as Employee Relations/Labor Relations (ER/LR).
Advise management on policies, procedures, and regulations related to workforce and career development with a focus on ER/LR.
Serve as the Division's point of coordination for workforce and career development.
Track, manage, and coordinate all activities or tasks such as ER/LR for the Division.
Oversee, prepare, develop, monitor and track documents for related actions following the relevant guidelines, policies and principles.
Work closely with the organization's Office of Director (OD) workforce and career development advisor, as well as representatives from Office of Human Resources (OHR) and Office of The General Counsel (OGC) for guidance on addressing and resolving issues related to ER/LR.
Provide confidential support to management such as out-processing actions for terminations, providing advice and guidance to the Workforce Career Development Officer on any employee related issues to performance management, HR personnel options and provide any requested documentation.
Lead the coordination of training for managers related to ER/LR, including identifying developmental and training needs, and arranging/scheduling relevant training.
Research relevant Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) policies and procedures to ensure that DPS is aligned with agency policy and procedures.
Assist DPS Deputy Director with special projects.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience in the formulation and implementation of an employee development program related to workforce planning, training and career development, awards and recognition, development of a diverse workforce, and organizational design.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to
