About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Institute for Water Resources (IWR), Alexandria, VA. The position will be filled on a permanent basis.

Duties

Serves as a Security Specialist; formulates local policy on handling of classified and Controlled Unclassified material in accordance with all applicable directives from higher authority. Serves as the installation technical expert regarding Information Security, advising all levels of management officials. Develops and presents information security briefings and training relative to new employees. Identifies intelligence and information security gaps, and participates in the development of operational programs. Coordinates with various employees and customers to enroll applicants into the Trusted Agent Sponsorship System to obtain Common Access Cards (CACs) and Volunteer Access Cards (VOLACs).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 90 days or longer to process.
