Duties
Serve as the Deputy for Programs and Project Management and Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division.
Make management decisions related to major Military, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Support for Others programs and projects.
Responsible for the substantial product delivery support from various organizations, supporting districts, International Architectural-Engineering (A-E), and construction firms.
Manage and/or direct a foreign military assistance program which involves the engineering design and construction of facilities.
Apply extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, and practices.
Involvement with other DoD activities, U.S. Air Force and Navy, and other U.S. Government agencies.
Oversee and/or direct Programs and Project Management Division activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Position requires Project Management Professional Certification. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain the certification within the first year of employment.
- Position is considered Mission Essential.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, and practices; maintaining effective management processes and a work environment conducive to effective integration of technical functions; assessing District mission and work requirements in developing corporate plans, goals, and objectives; overseeing all phases of major projects to ensure integration and coordination within established time-frames; providing guidance for functional managers to facilitate the effective resolution of technical problems, conflicts, and controversial issues, ensuring project issues are resolved; and assuring the establishment of corporate goals is on schedule, cost scope, and budget in Project Management Plans (PMP) in coordination with functional elements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
