Duties
Performs CMM program prove-outs and CMM calibrations to ensure program validity, repeatability, and accuracy.
Maintains program databases to control the storage and release of programs and to document program approval on all CMM program revision releases.
Develops inspection requirements for single and multiple operations.
Confers with quality planners, inspectors, shop personnel and top management officials regarding gage designs, costs involved, modifications or purchases of equipment, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a data analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for data analytics level 1 certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.
- Incumbent will be required to complete PC-DMIS Level I training within 6 months of hire.
- Incumbent will be required to complete PC-DMIS Level II training within 18 months of hire.
- Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond 6 years, up to 8 years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 8 years.
- Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for any type of industrial inspection process; (2) Reading and interpreting blueprints & drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) principles; and (3) Performing quality inspections utilizing standard or custom gauging. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-09).
