About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist at the ACS, G4, Plans, Exercises, Programs, and Policies (PEPP) in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Provide strategic logistic objectives to personnel throughout the organization.
Identify special logistical requirements for upcoming missions.
Conduct logistical analyses to prepare for future operations.
Coordinate procedures regarding the logistics of manpower and supplies needed to accomplish organizational goals.
Develop internal controls to ensure the logistics of missions are not compromised.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- 30% business travel (TDY) required.
- Travel by U.S. military, foreign military, and civilian aircraft may be required in the performance of TDY.
- Ground travel during TDY may be by U.S. military, foreign military, and civilian vehicle (including 4 wheel drive trucks, jeeps, etc.,), and foot over all types of hazardous terrain in hot, humid, and rainy weather.
- Extremely austere conditions may be encountered to include, but not limited to, sleeping on cots in tents, eating military rations, or eating foods and drinking liquids not to U.S. standards.
- TDY locations include Central, South America, and the Caribbean.
- Must comply with Department of Defense Foreign Clearance Guides, US Southern Command, Army South, Joint Task Forces, and Military Group requirements for entry into country.
- Requires official passport, immunizations, and personnel recovery requirements in accordance with Army South policies.
- Occupant of the position is limited to the return of former incumbent with statutory return rights under 10 USC Section 1586.
- Work is primarily sedentary, however during TDY periods the work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven, rocky terrain, and driving long distances over un-improved roads.
- A physical exam will be required.
- Extended overnight travel and extremely long plane trips are very common.

Integrate the actions required of each activity into a logistics plan to accomplish organizational missions.
