About the Position: Serve as manager for all external unit training deployment/redeployment and mobilization/demobilization related actions. This position is assigned to the Plans/Operations Division, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility, and Security (DPTMS), Fort Sill, OK.

Duties

Adjusts schedules and priorities to meet emerging requirements of a critical nature aecting the use of training support resources to achieve complex readiness timelines and goals. Directs a multi-faceted program and provides a wide range of training support and training services for individual and collective training requirements. Coordinates, plans, and executes formal and informal installation training support programs having a direct impact on training operations and soldier readiness. Responsible for developing, planning, and executing operation and maintenance activities for training ranges, land, and facilities. Coordinates directly with commanders, staff, and unit representatives to schedule and control the use of garrison training facilities, areas, and ranges. Possesses extensive knowledge of policy and procedures for standardizing and modernizing Army training support operations, facilities, and infrastructure, consistent with current and future doctrine, threat analyses, and force structure. Directs a multi-faceted program and provides a wide range of training support and training services for individual and collective training requirements. Ensures evolving training support capabilities are realistic and capture new and improved weapons, ammunitions, tactics, and training devices. Adjusts schedules and priorities to meet emerging requirements of a critical nature affecting the use of training support resources to achieve complex readiness timelines and goals. Provides input to supervisors on budget requirements and may mange internal budget program. 25% Has staff responsibility for drafting or developing input for training support documents and plans, to include the installation Range Development Plan, Range Complex Master Plan, Installation Status Report, Installation Digital Training Strategy, Integrated Training Investment Strategy, Army Master Range Plan, etc.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
