This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Hospital and Ambulatory Policy Group (HAPG), Division of Outpatient Care (DOC). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will serve as Deputy Director advising leadership on payments for outpatient services and related payment considerations on other Part B systems, including development, evaluation and implementation.

Duties

Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed and develops performance standards. Along with the Division director, directs the work of a staff of GS-7 through GS-14 employees and contractor staff if applicable. Provides expert consultation to staff and leadership of other components on technical and policy issues in areas of common interest. Provides guidance in the evaluation of legislation and regulations to assess impact on the OPPS and ASC payment systems; participates in the development of proposals to improve program operations and service to Hospital and Ambulatory Policy Group. Manages annual public process for developing appropriate payment rates for new codes payable under the OPPS and ASC payment system.
