About the Position: Serves as a Strategic Planner for the Director's Initiatives Group, with responsibility for directly
supporting the DCS G-8 and the ADCS G-8 with strategic initiatives, preparation and products to strengthen the linkage across all G-8 Directorates and Divisions as well as outside organizations.
Duties
Manages the synchronization of G-8 efforts across all G-8/CAA Directorates and division as well as external organizations.
Responsible for coordinating and organizing engagements, collaborative activities and other work force events that require communication and synchronization across the G-8.
Performs strategic analysis of either one time or recurring issues impacting the G-8 in conjunction with other organizations and across Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA).
Coordinates engagements and communications, both written and oral, both inside and outside of the G-8. Aids in addressing all media and Congressional inquiries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying regulations and directives to documentation. Directs the editing of documents to ensure content is consistent with strategic communications and for substance to include focus, scope, organization, and logic of conclusions, and recommendations. Establishes the program and performs training for personnel in regard application of proper syntax, grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, mechanical style, format and use of supplemental material to reinforce the highest order of writing and editing judgment to locate deficiencies in general writing style. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
