About the Position: Serves as the US Army Alaska's (USARAK) Medical Planner within the Command Surgeon's Office. Provides guidance, direction and advice on operational elements on Health Service Support planning.
Duties
Provides guidance, direction and advice on operational elements on Health Service Support planning.
Develops deliberate and crisis action medical planning product requirements.
Senior Medical Logistics Advisor to the commander, serving as the US Army Alaska medical logistician and technical expert for medical logistics plans requirements and operational capabilities during training and real world events.
Provides medical expertise in the planning, design, development, and execution of USARAK exercises across the AOR.
Serves as member of the USARAK Battle Staff and as a member of the deployable Tactical Operations Center (TOC) during major exercises and war-time operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is designated as a Key Position in accordance with AR 690-11. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- May be required to work 12-hour shifts.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, including evenings, weekends.
- May be required to live in field conditions (i.e., sleeping and working in a tent or hardened structure in an open bay setting with portable bathroom facilities) for an extended period of time (i.e., up to a month at a time).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing a structured approach to determine the requirements for medical support to military operations and complex humanitarian emergencies.
