Duties
This position is located at Division of Law Enforcement Service, District I, Aberdeen Area, Aberdeen, SD. Primary purpose is to provide direct assistance to the managers. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Develops and refines the collection and analysis of performance and criminal data throughout Office of Justice Services (OJS) to ensure maximum effective use of available resources.
Plans and carries out assignments based upon prescribed program objectives and has an understanding of the functions involved.
Consolidates work efforts into useful responses, ensuring their relevancy, technical accuracy, and consistency with related requests/projects.
Provides advice to upper level management on criminal data, trends, and activities.
Reviews information collected in IMARS submissions and determines the relevancy of the information.
Provides recommendations on policy and accessing and sharing of law enforcement information.
Prepare and route Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
Maintain case file(s) for FOIA.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards ).
Minimum Qualification for GS12:
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing all of the following: 1) Using databases to compile and review data to be used in the course of a criminal investigation; 2) Analyzing data to identify and formulate conclusions; and 3) Advising management on performance reports and data collected.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
