Duties
This position is located at Division of Law Enforcement Service, District I, Aberdeen Area, Aberdeen, SD. Primary purpose is to provide direct assistance to the managers. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Develops and refines the collection and analysis of performance and criminal data throughout OJS to ensure maximum effective use of available resources.
Plans and carries out assignments based upon prescribed program objectives and has an understanding of the functions involved.
Consolidates work efforts into useful responses, ensuring their relevancy, technical accuracy, and consistency with related requests/projects.
Provides advice to upper level management on criminal data, trends, and activities.
Reviews information collected in IMARS submissions and determines the relevancy of the information.
Provides recommendations on policy and accessing and sharing of law enforcement information.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards ).
GS-12:To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing all of the following: 1) Using criminal databases to compile and review data to be used in the course of a criminal investigation; 2) Analyzing criminal data to identify and formulate conclusions; 3) Advising management on criminal performance reports and data collected; AND 4) Providing recommendations on policy that is related to law enforcement data.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
