About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0H9AA US ARMY AVIATION AND MISSILE COMMAND.

Duties

Initiates and maintains interactive relationships with officials in the threat support communities. Monitors information from all sources and report foreign military developments and trends with potential adverse impact on, or benefit to, the assigned programs. Evaluates the customer requests for information to identify intelligence gaps. Makes decisions that involve the interpretation of policy or the setting of precedents. Coordinates foreign material acquisition/exploitation requirements. Advises customers on critical intelligence issues and application of threat assessments. Responsible for all assigned acquisition programs and to represent AMCOM at all meetings where intelligence is an issue, with the authority to make independent decisions where required. Prepares and submit requests through the requirements validation chain.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be required 25% of the time.
