You will serve as a Maintenance Worker Leader (Expert), leading a group to ensure all work assignments are completed, in Shop 99, Code 900 Production Resources Department of DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY.
Duties
You will assist the supervisor in accomplishing routine inspection of work in progress and performing completion of work reviews for compliance with appropriate work procedures and technical requirements.
You will utilize your knowledge and experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of equipment associated with environmental support temporary services and inventory/track any part or component associated with this equipment.
You will provide on-the-job mentoring and training of co-workers with less experience, evaluates and guides the work done by these lesser skilled employees.
You will serve as an integral part in the creation, review, and implementation of shop standard operation procedures, standard workbooks and desk guides, and verify work is being performed as trained.
You will assign work based on priorities given by supervisor and provides overview of tasks to be performed to assigned workers.
You will report to the supervisor on the status and progress of work, nature of work delays and answers questions on overall work operations and problems.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
- The role requires a significant physical effort, as the incumbent is required to lift or carry a minimum of sixty (60) pounds and occasionally more, depending on the job requirements.
- The work environment can vary, including shops, dry docks, piers, ships, submarines, barges, and other facilities, often in uncomfortable or cramped positions.
- Work requires the ability to perform tasks such as lifting, turning, pulling, pushing, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending, sitting, climbing, and reaching.
- This position requires the ability to distinguish primary colors.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
