You will serve as a UTILITIES MECHANICAL COGENERATION SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will inspect and oversee the operation of boiler and heating plants. You will participate in planning future work schedules, budgets and staffing needs. You will engage with high-level manager, state and federal officials, and all levels of personnel and contractors to ensure work is completed timely. You will establish, lead and participate on process teams. You will assign sequence of operations to subordinates by oral and written instructions.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE performing the following: 1) Inspecting and overseeing the operation of boiler and heating plants and maintenance and repair work related to those systems; 2) Making repairs to distribution systems for steam, compressed air and natural gas; 3) Operating and controlling, and maintaining generation equipment and life support equipment; 4)Taking actions to correct deficiencies and report conditions to appropriate officials, and 5) Training subordinates to safely and efficiently execute duties.
