Duties

You will serve as Budget Analyst (Lead) in the Resource Management Office (RMO), Budget Execution Division. You will provide budget planning and formulation for a major segment of the organization budget or for the total budget for one or more funds. You will execute a major segment of the organization budget or a total budget for one or more funds. You will allocate fund to individual activities/functional areas based on an analysis of activity budget estimates, historical expenditures, projected workload, and approved funding. You will evaluate the effect of cost and program changes on the budget execution process.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent of this position may be required or placed on-call to participate in the emergency operation center, DPTMS in the event of a emergency, crisis, or training exercise.
  • This position has Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d.
  • Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget ExecutionBudget Formulation, Justification, and PresentationConcepts, Policies, and Principles of BudgetOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
