Duties
Responsible for programming, budgeting, controlling, and administering the use of appropriated funds.
Serve as the principal advisor to the Budget Officer on all budgetary matters.
Execute a major segment of the organization budget or a total budget for one or more funds.
Analyzes headquarters programs and budgetary guidance.
Proposes alternative methods of financing unfunded requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and retain Secret Security Clearance.
- Incumbent of this position may be required or placed on-call to participate in the emergency operation center, DPTMS in the event of a emergency, crisis, or training exercise.
- This position has Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
- This position is a financial management Level 2 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience, which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as formulating and executing an organizations budget; reviewing and analyzing budget requests; and providing financial advisory recommendations in accordance with budget policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
