About the Position: Serves as a training specialist performing a variety of analytical, planning, and tasks concerned with collective and unit training of Active and Reserve Component Sustainment personnel and organizations in garrison and field environments. Job performance requires an understanding of overall collective training content/structure, the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) process, a practical knowledge of training methods and techniques, and a specialized knowledge in logistics.
Duties
Serves as a training specialist performing a variety of analytical, planning, and related tasks concerned with collective and unit training of Active and Reserve Component Sustainment personnel and organizations in garrison and field environments.
Applies knowledge in the planning, developing, and reviewing of collective training materials.
Responsible for the development of products for collective training in the field of training development.
Coordinates with HQDA, TRADOC, FORSCOM, NGB, OCAR, service schools and centers, and other commands and non-DOD federal agencies regarding training matters and requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Logistics such as the development of collective tasks, Training Support Packages (TSP), and Combined Arms Training Strategies (CATS). Understands overall collective training product content/structure, the Systems Approach to Training (SAT) process, and a practical knowledge of training methods and techniques. Knowledge of publications such as Tables of Organization and Equipment, Army Doctrine Publications (ADPs), Army Doctrine Reference Publications (ADRPs), Field Manuals, Technical Manuals and/or Army Regulations in developing collective/unit training products. Expertise in conducting research, develop methods and approaches to develop and review/revise complete training products. Skill in identifying actual or potential problem areas such as trends, imbalances, deficiencies, and implement necessary changes to resolve problem. Proficiency in coordinating with subject matter experts to ensure quality finished project. Proficiency in reviewing existing training materials, interprets, and advises of doctrinal changes concerning Sustainment unit training materials and actions.
