You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN/ENARCH) in the U.S. MARINE CORPS FORCES CENTRAL COMMAND of US MARINE CORPS FORCES, CENTRAL CMD.
Duties
You will evaluate management policy and directives regarding technical and administrative functions against emergent technologies to develop and promulgate MARCENT policies, procedures, and standards
You will be responsible for establishing training and developmental plans for the widespread adoption of new technologies introduced to the Command.
You will foster the acquisition of new skills and drives the career development of information management personnel.
You will coordinate and collaborates with the MARCENT Command, Control, Communications and Computers team (G6) to maintain and advance the Information Resource Management (IRM) enterprise construct.
You will directly be responsible for supporting technology innovation, introduction, and adoption in support of information management.
You will utilize or develop MARCENT standards, supporting the technical and business functions and the sharing of information across MARCENT and associated organizations and sets policy and defining standards for technology and process innovation.
You will established a Data Council Working Group, Executive forum, and Board to advance Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud storage, and other technology initiatives as part of a regular battle rhythm.
You will define, acquire, develop, motivate, and train the workforce to meet current and anticipated management goals and requirements through a direct report subordinate (Command Information Management Officer).

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues, maintain good working relationships, and provide technical briefings to personnel at all levels of internal/external hierarchy. Skill and ability to conduct research and analysis, to resolve complex problems, lead or participate in a process team, and instruct subordinate elements on capabilities, new technology and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Mastery of the interrelationships of information technology disciplines and information technology project management to efficiently carry out the duties of the position and is fully qualified in the technical and executive core qualifications listed below; Expert knowledge of USMC systems, organizations and policies for adoption and program of record activities, material allowance management and records management.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Mastery of and skill in applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods of Information Technology Management including cyber security, system design, implementation, maintenance, and modification for both technical and office administrative function.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues, maintain good working relationships, and provide technical briefings to personnel at all levels of internal/external hierarchy.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Skill and ability to conduct research and analysis, to resolve complex problems, lead or participate in a process team, and instruct subordinate elements on capabilities, new technology and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
