Duties
Serves as a Communications Security (COMSEC) Manager responsible for providing DLA wide COMSEC Program support by developing, coordinating, and implementing guidelines and procedures designed to effectively manage DLA COMSEC Program.
Serves as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) responsible for the COMSEC account, COMSEC Responsible Officers (CROs), Secure Voice Responsible Officers and equipment assigned throughout the Agency.
Responsible for requesting and receiving COMSEC materials for End Cryptographic Units from National Security Agency (NSA), United States Air Force (USAF), and other Department of Defense (DoD) COMSEC agencies.
Follows all DLA, DoD, NSA, and USAF guidance in the management and maintenance of the DLA COMSEC account, properly documents all COMSEC actions (receipt, destruction, etc.) in accordance with current policy.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Ensures proper usage, and proper destruction of these materials or equipment during their lifecycle.
Performs security functions required to protect COMSEC equipment while adhering to policy and guidance provided by the COMSEC Division Chief.
Manages the storage and distribution of electronic keying equipment and information through the Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Management Client/Advanced Key Processor (MGC/AKP) automated system.
Analyzes requirements and oversees the conduct of COMSEC functions to minimize the threat of espionage, sabotage, and subversive operations against activities and missions.
Facilitates and administers the CRO and Secure Voice User training programs.
Manages, forecasts, and coordinates the procurement, and issue of end cryptographic unit (i.e. Tactical Local Area Network Encryptor (TACLANE) bulk encryption or equivalent).

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
