Duties
The selectee will serve as a(n) Management and Program Analyst in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Typical work assignments include:
Delivering evidence-based solutions and recommendations to help the agency meet known and diagnose unknown challenges, and to support the executive decision-making process across all Secret Service directorates and programs.
Supporting governance bodies by analyzing and interpreting budgetary documents, developing and implementing project plans for complex analytical projects and providing analytical support.
Providing thoughtful and informed responses to resource-related questions from the Department of Homeland Security.
Using data analytics tools to review and develop program resource business cases for prioritization.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-9 level (starting salary $68,405.00) if you possess one of the following:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Analyzing organizational issues in need of solutions; Participating in the process improvement for effective decision-making at the operating level; and Providing analysis that supports directorate program resource requests and objectives.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
