Duties

Centrally manage all mission and mission support projects, taskings, actions and programs received/assigned by higher headquarters. Conduct comprehensive functional and operational analysis of all projects. Oversee the review and analysis of all completed projects from subordinate units for technical quality, appropriate levels of coordination, consistency, logic, soundness of recommendations, and compliance with established objectives. Oversee the operation and maintenance of formal action and suspense tracking systems, unit battle rhythm, and calendar. Represent the organization at key meetings, working groups, in-progress reviews, and video teleconferences. Prepare a variety of official correspondence, e.g., information papers, decision memorandums, point papers, briefings, and Executive Summary (EXSUMs) on issues and areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the employee to undergo screening for tuberculosis prior to entry on duty and annually thereafter.
  • This position requires the employee to pass a Criminal History Background Check. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense.
  • IAW The Prison Rape Elimination Act, the MCC may not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates, has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup community conferment facility, juvenile facility, or other institution.
  • The incumbent of this position will comply with all provisions of the 15th MP BDE Regulation 190-3, Rules of Conduct and ACC Policy Letter #17, Standards of Conduct.
  • This position requires the employee to complete the Army Corrections Command Pre-Service Training program to maintain security and control of inmates, appropriate staff/inmate interaction and understanding the rules of inmate conduct.
  • Personnel who enter the Military Corrections Complex (within or outside the fence line) consent to inspection of their person and property, including their vehicle.
  • All confinement facility personnel shall have no civilian felony convictions or court-martial convictions for any offense with a maximum authorized sentence to confinement of over one year.
  • Section 639 of Public Law 106-554 requires agencies to remove law enforcement officers from employment as law enforcement officers if they are convicted of a felony.
  • Department of Defense Instruction, Number 1325.07 states all confinement facility personnel shall possess a high degree of maturity and emotional stability.
  • All ACC employees are required to take 40 hours of training annually. Employees will receive basic training in inmate supervision and security as well as specialized training in their field.

This experience must have been gained in an administrative position, or in other positions that included the successful direction, or assistance in the direction of, an entire correctional program or a major phase of such a program. You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service which includes (1) producing and distributing operations orders; (2) managing taskings for an organization; and (3) reviewing guidance from higher authority and refining/updating organizational policies and/or regulations to meet requirements. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsInfluencing/NegotiatingPlanning and EvaluatingProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcements.
