You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LIBRARIAN in the COLLECTIONS & RESOURCES DIVISION, NIMITZ LIBRARY at NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will configure and modify commercial and open-source information systems software to meet changing requirements.
You will arrange for appropriate technological tools and training to increase capabilities of library employees.
You will develop and adopt actions to improve customers' satisfaction.
You will determine information access and library support needs to take action for improvement in these areas.
You will actively seek and nurture collaborative partnerships with employees for information technology (IT) support and service expansion.
Requirements

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Managing information technology used in advanced computing environments (e.g., the Enterprise system, web-based interfaces/applications) in a research or academic library; 2. Working with Metadata in a research or academic library; 3. Developing current, intermediate, and long-range department-level plans and effectively communicate and directing them to staff. Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
Have completed master's or equivalent graduate degree in library science
OR
2 full academic years of graduate study in library science leading to such a degree in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree.
OR
At least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. Your education, training, and experience established knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; a knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
