Duties

The Mission Support Specialist serves in a confidential capacity as an Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Financial Operations Directorate as a senior analyst or advisor to senior management on a major mission or administrative program requiring application of a wide-range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess complex management and program processes and systems. This position starts at a salary of $104,356.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $135,667.00 (GS-13, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Typical work responsibilities may include: Performing a full range of administrative, research and analytical duties and a variety of liaison activities and special assignments related to the mission and functions of the office; Developing and analyzing internal administrative and operating policies and procedures of the office through independent reviews, coordination with internal and external components, preparation of special reports, and extensive research and analysis; Planning, developing, and coordinating planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for executive management; and Maintaining overall control of the official's schedule. Operates in a confidential capacity to the Executive Director of the Financial Operations Directorate.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing technical assistance and advice to management and customers; Providing guidance and leadership to lower-graded team members; Preparing statements and reports containing timely, accurate financial information used to manage projects and programs; and Reviewing applicable regulations, directives and guidance to update and improve financial processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 06/26/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
