Duties
You will serve as the focal point for the planning and implementing of customer support services to provide assistance, guidance, direction, and resolution to customer Tier II and Tier III service requests from the information technology community.
You will review and evaluate new technological trends in network and information security technologies and systems to determine and develop an approach to improve information systems effectiveness and security.
You will analyze customer requirements and manage service outages and requests, review progress, perform closeout actions, ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
You will prepare and present reports, briefings, and other documentation on Cyber Operations matters to include normal operational reporting, evaluation and recommendation of new tools and trends in the IT customer support field.
You will maintain cyber operation situational awareness, keeping superiors and team members advised of unusual situations and potential problem areas and recommend courses of action or conclusive actions.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable management of MCCOG IT support requests.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area CYBER DEFENSE ANALYST level INTERMEDIATE within 12 months of appointment.

- This is a MISSION ESSENTIAL position and the incumbent is required to perform on a SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE that requires the incumbent to work nights, weekends, holidays, inclement weather, furlough periods, or as needed for mission success.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled.
(1) Demonstrates ability to communicate technical matters in writing and orally, in such a manner that facilitates appropriate managerial action and customer understanding.
(2) Acute knowledge of and ability to apply information systems security principles; concepts and standards, including knowledge of new IT security developments: demonstrated ability to apply
computer and network security techniques and tools for quality control of information security
throughout the Cyber Operations Center personnel and customers to minimize system
vulnerabilities in mission critical IT resources.
(3) Acute knowledge of planning, scheduling, and resource management in an operational environment in order to support 24x7x365 operations of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network. Knowledge of and skill in applying a wide variety of applications, operating systems, protocols, and equipment used in customer support sufficient to receive, respond to, and ensure complete resolution of any Cyber Operations Center call, document actions taken, and give needed guidance or training to customers to prevent recurrences.
(4) Knowledge of and skill in understanding of IT concepts, principles, methods and practices for both existing and emerging technology and an understanding of how these trends can impact the organization's mission, efficiency and expense is required.
This position is within the Work Category-PROFESSIONAL at Work Level- FULL PERFORMANCE, Series 2210 and Grade GG-12.

Education
