Duties
As a Administrative Support Specialist you will:
Develop and apply methods and procedures designed to provide administrative services to an organization
Evaluate the quality, effectiveness, and responsiveness of services provided and initiate improvements where possible
Set up and maintain systems to control purchasing and use of supplies
Conduct periodic surveys of equipment and property utilization and recommend action as necessary to assure that economical and efficient use is made of equipment and other property
Processes time and attendance, training requests, onboarding all employees to include mandatory trainings, obtaining ID badges and cardkeys
Complete all travel arrangements for staff members, including making necessary reservations and obtaining tickets prior to departure
Use agency automated travel system to prepare travel orders, requests for travel authorization, and travel vouchers.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, which must include the following experience: planning and organizing administrative activities that provide programmatic support to an organization.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of specialized experience and graduate level education that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
