This position is part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.

Duties

Coordinating, reviewing, and reporting GPO'S operating budget. Advising and providing consultations to the Chief of Finance and other higher-level officials. Preparing and ensuring compliance with, standard operation procedures and conducting risk analysis. Performing the full range of supervisory duties, including but not limited to setting priorities, setting and evaluating performance standards, and establishing objectives to achieve the goals of the Chief Financial Officer. Ensuring that effective management control systems are implemented, maintained, and operated in accordance with agency requirements. Responsible for internal control over financial resources and over financial processes within the Division.

Requirements

  • You must be a current Career or Career Conditional GPO employee to apply.
  • Selectee may be required to pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
  • Selectee must undergo a background investigations for a High Risk Public Trust.
  • Confidential Financial Disclosure Report may be required.
  • Selectee may be required to serve a one year Supervisory/Managerial probationary period.
  • TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
  • Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Supervisory Financial Analyst, PG-0501-15, your resume must demonstrate at least one year at the PG-14 or equivalent performing the following duties: Evaluating and developing GPO's budget. Monitoring and reporting financial performance. Preparing a budget justification package. Reviewing and making recommendations on purchase requisitions. Reviewing and deciding on performance management issues such as awards, hiring, training, and incentives. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (07/02/2024) to be considered.
