These positions are located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Assistant Commandant for Intelligence (CG-2), Coast Guard Counterintelligence Service (CGCIS), Analysis & Production Division (CG-CI A&P), Washington, DC.

Duties

You will serve as an Intelligence Research Specialist (Counterintelligence Analysis), primarily responsible for analyzing counterintelligence related information and producing written products and briefings in support of various CGCIS missions throughout the USCG and the Intelligence Community. Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • This position requires a valid drivers license.
  • The applicant is subject to pre-appointment and random drug testing.
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Must be able to complete a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
  • Must be willing to undergo CI Scope Polygraph

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-13 if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.   Specialized experience include: analyzing counterintelligence related information and producing written products and briefing throughout the Intelligence Community (IC) on counterintelligence (CI) matters. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.  If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
