This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), I&A, Homeland Threats Division. The primary purpose of this position is to work as a Homeland Counterterrorism Division threat expert and is a versatile and technically proficient terrorist threat analyst within I&A. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

As a Intelligence Operations Specialist GS 0132 14, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision: Conducts first line review of analytic products and manages projects and workflow of team analysts. Applies technical experience in terrorism analysis and couples it with expertise in analytic tradecraft and execution. Mentors and molds the activities of CTC and influences the activities of all DHS components. Represents the Branch and occasionally the Branch Chief in a wide range of meetings, conferences, and workgroups in venues across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, international, and private sectors. Influences the development of hardware, software, tools, applications and business processes that support the tradecraft.   • You must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

Qualifications

Specialized Experience You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as: Utilizing intelligence gathering and dissemination techniques to assess complex intelligence issues within an organization and maintaining situational awareness of all terrorism threats in order to develop recommendations concerning collection and dissemination of counterterrorism information. Collecting and analyzing raw and finished intelligence information and managing workflow of analytic products. Making formal presentations to high level officials and representing an organization at various meetings and conferences. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary.
