This position is within the Missile Defense Agency, Technical Intelligence Directorate. The incumbent will serve as an Intelligence Operations Specialist providing support to MDA Program Elements and Supporting Offices.

Duties

As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GG-0132-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the program Counterintelligence (CI) Covering Agent for assigned Research Development and Acquisition (RDA) Programs, Tests and Evaluation events, CONUS and OCONUS MDS deployments. Initiates projects, collection requests, and requirements for information ensuring the Cl Program support is consistent with applicable public laws, Executive Orders and DoD Directives. Implement CI Instructions and issuances governing Cl missions and functions which include CI investigations and CI Incident Assessments. Facilitates the development of a comprehensive Cl support program that includes the federal government, private industry mission partners, and international participants. Acts as a primary point of contact within the assigned AOR, with the Military Services' Cl elements, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other federal/state organizations which have Cl missions/authorities. Ensures defensive operations and appropriate CI products & services are integrated into MDS activities to protect personnel, facilities, critical program information, and MDS technologies from criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence and security services targeting for exploitation. Understands CI Operations, CI collection, CI analysis & production, and CI functional services. Coordinates closely with other program offices to ensure Cl products are integrated into larger MDA products as appropriate or when directed. Presents the MDA interest and points of view at formal interagency committees, conferences, and work groups. Implements mission portfolios including the relevant portions of Cl Functional Services, CI Analysis, Cl Collection, CI Operations, and Cl Inquires.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GG-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level meeting 3 of the 4 following statements: Experience prioritizing and managing a wide variety of counterintelligence counter-terrorism activities or related counterintelligence functional services Experience conducting incident assessments to include assessing personnel, security matters, espionage, sabotage, terrorism, and subversive activities and documenting the actions Experience working with various US intelligence and counterintelligence organizations Experience in development, implementation and execution of counterintelligence programs for assigned major missile defense systems Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
