This position is in the Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM), Office of Emergency Management, Regulations Implementation Division, Chemical Branch. About OLEM: Office of Land and Emergency Management This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.*EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as planning, organizing and directing a multidisciplinary team that is primarily responsible for providing national expertise, evaluation, and guidance on environmental regulations. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:  Skill in program development. Skill in planning. Ability to identify and implement strategic management practices to enhance agency effectiveness. Ability to communicate results and analysis to a broad audience. Ability to provide counsel to and interact with senior management officials within and outside of the Agency. Ability to provide leadership to a staff of technical and/or administrative personnel. Skill in planning, organizing, and directing the functions of subordinate organizational units. Ability to mentor, motivate, and appraise staff. Knowledge of contract laws and regulations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
