Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as advising on the development or review process of environmental regulations or policies; making recommendations on regulation or policy decisions; and monitoring or assessing the performance and progress of a team.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Knowledge of EPA's Action Development Process; 2) Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of subordinate organizational units; 3) Knowledge of environmental statutes, regulations, and policies; 4) Skill in oral communication; 5) Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners; 6) Skill in written communication; 7) Skill in resource management; 8) Ability to advise on financial management activities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
