Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as advising on sustainable development strategies or programs; making recommendations on tools, methods, or research focused on reducing environmental or health disparities; and coaching, mentoring, or leading others.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Ability to advise on environmental protection principles, concepts, and practices; 2) Skill in performance management; 3) Skill in strategic planning; 4) Skill in resource management; 5) Skill in program evaluation; 6) Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals and stakeholders; 7) Knowledge of analytical tools and models; 8) Ability to make recommendations to minimize environmental impacts of land development patterns.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
