The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Executive Support Specialist for administering and directing the Group's executive support functions and insuring that day-to-day operations comply with the policies of the command and commander's support staff.
Duties
Serves as the executive advisor on programs and initiatives within the Group.
Performs a variety of administrative duties, and special projects/studies
Plans/conducts staff meetings as directed
Manages group resources for executive support, services and activities.
Monitors and tracks all data calls for conferences and special events for the Group in support of the Commander/Director, Command Section, Wing, AFMC, Organizations, etc. (i.e., various MAJCOM data requests, etc.)
Performs a variety of administrative duties, and special projects/studies
Works to achieve and support quality improvement in all products and services.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301 (opm.gov). Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes requirements for administering the various programs, analysis, and review of particular aspects of the various managerial responsibilities within the Group to determine need for implementation of new policies relating to current practices techniques requiring modification of existing policies and procedures; interpretation and evaluation of suggested plans and policies relating to current practices and possible courses of actions, etc. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization, and a variety of principles and processes applicable to the work operations of a military group or equivalent.
2. Knowlege of analytical, evaluative, and planning processes, techniques and methods as applied to issues or studies involving administrative or support functions.
3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, and precedents applicable to group programs and related support resources or equivalent.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
6. Ability to plan, organize work, and manage multiple taskings.
7. Ability to apply lean, safety, security, and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal, management procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
PHYSICAL DEMAND: The work is primary sedentary with some walking and carrying of reports, ledgers, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed in an office setting. The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. Responsibilities and actions directly impact the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of administrative and operational programs of the Group; assignments involve reviewing, developing, implementing, and contributing to a variety of plans, policies, and procedures for the Group.
