About the Position: This position is located in the Police/Provost Marshal Division, Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Duties

Perform full range of duties pertinent to the deployment, maintenance, modification, and expansion of the Advantor Intrusion Detection System, and the Central Monitoring Control Systems and their associated electric/electronic devices and components. Install, maintain, trouble-shoot, adjust, repair all Advantor Intrusion Detection Systems and the Central Monitoring Control Systems and associated devices and components. Participate in the establishment and implementation of expanded or extended use of the Advantor Intrusion Detection System, and the Central Monitoring Control Systems. Coordinate with manufacturer’s field service engineers and technicians when installing or making extensive changes to the Advantor Intrusion Detection System and the Central Monitoring Control System. Provide technical guidance to other mechanics and personnel providing service support for the System.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a current, valid state driver's license.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a current, valid Advantor certification.
  • Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
  • Assumes essential personnel status during inclement weather/emergencies.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent must sign a DA Form 5019-R and pass a urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, out of cycle, or on an emergency basis. The employee may be recalled to duty from scheduled time off or required to be on call.

I am skilled in: 1) Installing, maintaining, trouble-shooting, and repairing a variety of complex electronic/communication equipment; 2) Operating a variety of complex electronic test equipment to perform complex testing operations; 3) Interpreting and applying a variety of basic and complex schematics, technical manuals, blueprints and wiring diagrams when testing and performing assembly and repair duties; AND 4) Applying circuit theory and operating electronic principals for troubleshooting malfunctions of operation.
