You will serve as an Industrial Engineering Technician in the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will plan and recommend complete facility preparation and modification to enable accomplishment of the agency's workload. You will participate in management discussions on program plans, production requirements, proposed moves, and expansions. You will use industrial engineering techniques and analyze pertinent data on facilities, equipment, tools, production, records, and manpower utilization. You will prepare detailed recommendations and justifications for accomplishing changes. You will create layout drawings showing location of machines, benches, aisles, handling and cleaning areas, offices, power outlets, and more. You will prepare equipment lists showing types, capacity, operational power requirements, and also prepare cost estimates and manpower requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing complex policies and procedures pertaining to work measurement program; 2) Demonstrating industrial processes, mechanical skills, and technical procedures involved in overhaul and repair of modern weapons systems and components; 3) Analyzing, developing, and coordinating "as-is/to-be" business processes to determine the most efficient and reliable means of increasing productivity, quality and output; 4) Applying statistical methods and performing mathematical calculations to determine process, staff requirements, and production standards; 5) Providing consistent, quality customer service to ensure successful project execution and ultimate customer satisfaction with delivered products and services; and 6) Providing expertise in analyzing and evaluating numerous courses of data to determine status and forecast workload capability.
